The display devoted to the local area has been divided into:
1.Geography,
geology and mineralogical natural resources plus the topography of
not only Ratchaburi but the ares surrounding it, such as Phetchaburi
and Kanchanaburi.
2. A prehistoric
burial (skeleton) excavated at Ban Khok Phlap, Bang Phae District,
Ratchaburi Province, with stone implements and pottery, a model of
a house formed on the basis of post holes found at Nong Chae Sao,
Muang District, Ratchaburi Province etc.
3. Rachaburi
during the 6th - 10th centuries A.D. Archaeological evidence of the
development of Dvaravati style found in early Ratchaburi, especially
in the ancient town of Ban Khu Bua, Muang District, Ratchaburi.
4. Rachaburi
during the 11th - 13th centuries A.D. During the early period Khmer-influence
known as the "Lopburi Style" was popular, as evidenced by
a stone radiating Lokesvara found at Chom Phrasat, Ban Pong District,
Ratchaburi Province. A new style called the U Thong Style developed
later when the Thai established their own culture in Sukhothai, Suphanaphum,
Ayutthaya, Lawo etc.
5. Ratchaburi
in the Ayutthaya period, 1350-1767 A.D. A Sukhothai inscription indicates
that Ratchaburi was an area of conflict between Thailand and Burma.
This is affirmed by their mutual influence on the architecture, sculpture,
paintings, glazed ceramics and pottery found in the area.
6. Ratchaburi
in the Bangkok period, 1781-1832. Items giving evidence of the politics,
laws and local development from the Thonburi period (1767-1771) to
the Bangkok period in the reign of King Prachathipok (1932).
7. Ratchaburi
today. Items indicating the politics, laws and social development
in Ratchaburi since 1932.
8. Ethnic groups.
Objects exemplifying the culture of the Song, Karen and Thai Yuan.
9. Water jar
with dragon motif. The method of making large ceramic water jars with
a dragon motif, one of the most famous industrial products of the
area.
10. Sports activities.
Awards, medals, flags and photos indicating the activities of local
athletes.
